Sailing Ships at Sea – Oil Painting after Reinier Nooms (Zeeman), 62 × 50 cm
A hand-painted oil painting depicting an evocative scene of historic sailing ships in a harbour. The finely rendered vessels, muted colour palette and dramatic sky recall the tradition of 17th-century Dutch marine painting.
An older label on the reverse reads “Reinier Nooms, called Zeeman – Sailing Ships at Sea”. The label identifies the artist of the source composition, not the painter of this particular work. The piece is therefore offered as a later oil painting after Reinier Nooms, an important Dutch marine painter, and not as an original work by Nooms.
The painting is presented in a substantial profiled frame with a gold-brown finish and naturally developed patina. It is a distinguished decorative piece for a traditional interior, study, library or a room furnished with antiques.
